I'm sure that John was thinking of the Boyne, with the Northern Irish connection, as those were the tartans he has selected, rather than Aughrim which is in Galway, Ireland
Just to support the accuracy in what Paul is saying go to any news site any look up Ardoyne. It is a section of north Belfast and been the scene of a lot of clashes the last few days, last night in particular. The whole genesis of these occurences is the Battle of the Boyne. (offered without any comment).

I have been in training -----nothing too serious I might add-------for the event and the idea a being a month late for the grand occasion, well, I did need a stiff drink, just to get the brain back on an even keel!

Another misconception, you are confusing the gerrymandered state of Northern Ireland with the ancient province of Ulster - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulster .
Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan might have compromised the Protestant ascendancy (too many Catholics there) and were left out.

As someone from Donegal, I'm quite well aware that I am technically an Ulsterman! My sale is in reference to Northern Ireland only.
