Alternative to Jabots
Hey Rabble, can anyone show me some alternatives to Jabots. Some pics and names of suppliers would be helpful.

You mean like a black bow tie?
Assuming not, one could wear a stock. Try this company:

I went to a tux shop and bought a used white shirt and use a hand tied bow tie. I have a basic black one and then one in black with patterns on it that I bought from Beau Ties on line. They have many many different patterns and I intend to pick up a couple more.

Yes, I think an alternative to a jabot for evening occasions would normally be a bow tie, though a cravat of some sort (in black silk, for example) can also look nice!

Thanks Robert!
As usual, lovely pictures. I am particularly interested in the first tie-type. With a normal bow-tie perhaps being somewhat "hard and straight" (for want of better words) compared to a more flowing and soft jabot. This looks rather dashing.
I guess though, that one would need the right clothes to really pull the look off- which you, and your other photographic examples certainly do!
Cheers!

Simple white silk self-tie cravat with sapphire pin. Available from the UK-based "The Cravat Company" (thecravatcompany.co.uk). Wide palette of colors...I just went with white for my wedding. If you'd like a pic more focused on the neck area, please let me know.

Thank you. I really love the selection of apparel I've seen you display since I've joined X marks. I tend to favor a little more austerity for my personal style (look at all the Black and White! Jeez!), but if I thought I could pull it off, I might easily, easily sink several months' salary into your Lady's coffers. I always look forward to seeing what you wear!
