Oh Wow! Thank you all so very much for your kind messages - I am so grateful and am touched that you remembered - or perhaps it was Steve's opening post that prompted you!
It was a quiet day, much as any other nowadays, except that my wonderful neighbour took me to a carvery restaurant a few miles away for a celebratory lunch. Unknown to me, she had rustled up several mutual friends who live nearby and so six of us sat down to eat. There was no birthday cake, with or without candles, but I did open a quarter bottle of champagne to help while away the evening in front of the TV!
The lunch was only the second time I have eaten out since my surgery in January, and I was delighted to survive the four hours away from home without mishap or embarrassment! I do not normally allow myself to be out for as long as that.
