A True Gentleman-Robert Pel of RKilts
We have all seen the threads of a merchant who has failed to meet expectations, provided poor service or otherwise let someone down. I think it is equally important to give plaudits to someone who provides great service.
Such is the case with Robert Pel proprietor of RKilts. Quite awhile back someone responded to a thread I started and in reply to my inquiry recommended the indigo blue hemp from Rkilts. So this became my project kilt. $5 here set aside, a few dollars here set aside, money left over from a vacation put in. After a few finger on the trigger, followed by an unexpected bill moments, I was able to place an order and receive one.
After the first washing I noticed a small issue, nothing major. Robert emailed me to send it back to him almost immediately and said he would take care of it. Well the relatively simple issue of returning it was beset with a holiday, UPS losing track of the package, Customs nightmares (and I don't exaggerate) etc. Robert was helpful throughout. I still feel bad about him having to waste time dealing with the brain dead in customs who could not figure out what "Return for Repair" means. I am leaving out the specifics because they are not essential to the bottom line, Robert provided SUPERB service. This was post sale so it would have been easy to fob off. The kilt finally made it back home today.
So to anyone looking at RKilts I highly recommend them. The hemp kilts are so well made, yes machine sewn but the work and attention to detail is tremendous. The pleats and pleat swing are fantastic. Plus Robert provides top drawer service and as I said in the subject, is a true gentleman.

I love my hemp R-Kilt, and Robert is a pleasure to deal with. You are right about that.

Bravo!!
I'd love to buy a hemp kilt from Robert...but it's a bit beyond my means and rather low on my current priority list. I HAVE purchased some custom embossed kilt straps from him and received great service...so I would definitely echo about him being user friendly and customer oriented.

Hey, Robert is one cool dude for sure! I've TWO leather kilts from him. Quality throughout.
When I outgrew the first one I was able to send it back for him to add a few new panels to it so it'd fit again.
And he's "green" Solar powered sewing machines! Just an amazing guy.

I agree, nice fella. Never met him personally but have swapped words in a few threads here and elsewhere and followed his posts with interest. He writes a good BLOG too.

for those of blessed to live within a drivable distance of RKilts I have to say he is as nice in person as he is on the net. I don't have one of his kilts as of yet but when I am once again employed a Mach 5 will be one of my first orders.
