But... are kilts and aloha shirts mutually exclusive? I wore both once while piping at a funeral... when in Rome, as they say.
I wore an understated one (oxymoron? short-sleeved tan silk with the floral patterns but no colours) with my Auld Scotland kilt Monday.

I wore my USAK semi-trad in black Stewart tartan, yesterday.

Nearing 60, I still have difficulty with the female clerks, cashiers etc. referring to me as 'sweetie', 'honey', etc.

So, I was a little caught off guard, when exiting Park Lane Tavern last night and passing the four young lady servers more than half my age at the hostess stand, hearing one of them say to the others as I past by, 'he is so cute.' Well, maybe I shouldn't be. Kilted geezers can be cute!

    Gentlemen – The Tartan!

    Here's to it!
    The fighting sheen of it,
The yellow, the green of it,
The white, the blue of it,
The swing, the hue of it,
    Every thread of it!

The fair have sighed for it,
The brave have died for it,
    Foemen sought for it,
    Heroes fought for it,
    Honour the name of it,
Drink to the fame of it –
    THE TARTAN!

Aug 1st I was at the Dry Bluffs Pirate festival as a Kilted Merchant.

No Glass to raise but the thought was there, and my Birthday to boot.
