Posing at Murrayfield tomorrow
I'm up at Murrayfield tomorrow for the international friendly rugby match against Ireland in Edinburgh.
Edinburgh will be buzzing and the atmosphere is always great when the Irish visit the capital but we also have the festival and fringe along with the upcoming Tattoo, so Edinburgh certainly will be the place to be tomorrow.
We've decided at the last minute to stay overnight in the city in a small hotel near Leith Walk, I had almost given up trying to get digs when this place came up through laterooms.com. Mind you the reports from Trip Advisor ain't so good, rats in the backcourt, a big mouse running about loose in one of the room's wardrobes and a breakfast that has more grease on it than your average car mechanic.
Nevertheless, me and the mate will be there, I can let you know on Monday how I survived.
Anyway the Scottish Rugby Association has sent all ticket holders an e-mail detailing pre-match entertainment and Carling, the official beer of Murrayfield and Scotland Rugby Team is bringing the Carling Fans Stand, set up behind the East Stand and are looking for kilted fans to give their best celebration pose, so how could I refuse this offer. (How many fans may give the alternative pose as highlighted before the Battle of Stirling in Braveheart?)
So we are looking forward to a good kilted weekend in Auld Reekie

Hmm, jealous too!
But this time next year I'll be up at Cullzean for a week, and my eldest keeps reminding me "Don't for get to pack your kilt dad!"...
Still only another 52 weeks of reminders to ... what was it now?

Make sure you bring your kilt.
The Glasgow Evening Times reported a story last night concerning Culzean Castle in Ayrshire (pronounced Killain)
Former USA President Eisenhower donated a suite of rooms in the castle to the people of Scotand for their friendship to the USA in World War 2. These rooms have been kept exactly the same as a museum to the former President until recently when the trustees in charge of the castle decided this was now outdated and have stored the artefacts away somewhere in the castle and in its place will be ipods and other modern things to remind us of Ike. this has caused quite a furore here and there is a lobby that wants the suite of rooms restored to its original function with Ike's artefacts
