The 4005 is (or was )in Denver. I didn't follow where it ended up after they turned the museum building into a big REI store. Quite an impressive machine. As a former employee and local history buff I have to confess a certain bias toward D&RGW and the great steam roster they used to have.

First- I believe our Big Boy moved to the museum in Golden. If it isn't the 4005, it's another one, but deffinately a Big Boy.

Second- you ever take a ride on the The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad?

My dad helped to rebuild it after the D&RGW abandoned it. Personally, I think the ride is nicer than the Durango & Silverton line... but I'm biased.

That ride is still on my "to do" list. I hear that it's spectacular. I used to ride the Silverton and the Zephyr for free. Enjoyed a lot of long weekends to Glenwood.

When you decide to do the C&TS line, let me know. My family will join yours! I'll show you around Chama a little.

Thanks, Nighthawk. We'll keep it on the to do list.
