During the warmer months, I'm a full-time kilt wearer. Even when decked out in tartan kilt, hose, etc, etc, etc I still get the occasional "point-and-laugh" thing. The old saying is right -- you can't fix stupid.

Wear your kilt with style, wear it with confidence... and consider that sometimes added some of the traditional kilt touches[1] can help more people realize its a kilt.


I think my worst experience kilted happened in Cleveland, where someone brought their car up on the sidewalk, trying to run me over, while shouting homophobic slurs. After that -- I can deal with laughter.

[1] Sporran, hose, flashes, that sort of thing. Not required, but it can head off trouble.
