Barb, you've been a significant friend to all of us, seen and unseen, by the gifts you have given us and continue to give. Thank you!

There are a few photos around of the "Antartic" tartan pleated like this (Ron "Riverkilt" comes to mind) to a really good effect.

Is the tartan on the right Highland Granite? And if it is, what are the popular ways to pleat it other than to the sett?

Re: "Flash of color" in pleating to the stripe
Kiltshot,
The kilt on the right is indeed Highland Granite. It also happens to be mine. Barb made it for her, at the time, prospective son in law, who decided he wanted a different Tartan for the wedding. Barb offered it for sale here on the forum. I just happen to have Barb's cell phone number and happen to catch her in the Denver airport.
This Kilt is one of my most prized posessions. As this photo of it is featured in the second printing of "The Art of Kiltmaking", and is, I believe, the first kilt ever made from the Highland Granite Tartan, I have major bragging rights.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

I doubt it was the first one, but it certainly was one of the early ones!
