Figure this is as good a place as any to ask this.
I'm contemplating another kilt in MacKay tartan. It's predominantly green and overall fairly dark. Is there a good way to pleat this to get a reveal, or is this one not worth the trouble and just stick with pleating to sett?
I may have to spend a while with my current macKay kilt and play with it a bit.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

The only way to be sure is to actually try it out with tartan in hand. But, you won't see a flash unless there's a really striking difference between what you see on the face of the pleat (the reveal) and what is immediately underneath the reveal and hidden unless the pleat opens. And lighter _inside_ the pleat makes a better flash than the reverse.

What an interesting thread. I have recently ordered the hunting weathered MacIntosh and had it pleated to the yellow stripe as there is a predominant red throughout that I didn't want in the pleats. I cant wait to see if this red will come out when the pleats open.

And "post" would have meant nothing because the Internet hadn't been invented yet.
Well, actually, it had been invented, just not widely known or used.
May I present:

(sorry, couldn't resist. that show cracks me up something fierce!)

Of course they do. I just know they are rather protective if it, it's quite delicate.
