    I tried that but it made it really bulky in the middle so I let them out a little so they would lay flat.

    Cockade

    Well done! Nicely made! I too enjoy making accessories to Highland dress. I've gone to Sam's Club and bought $25 wing-tips, cut around the lace holes, replaced the shoe strings with long one's and had $125 brogues for $25. Also made my own kilt belt, and had a jacket tailored down into a day kilt jacket for $15.
