Jackson Hole Highland Games
We had a great time at the Yellowstone Highland Games and we're looking forward to the Festival in Jackson Hole Wyoming on the 19th and 20th of August. Any other Xers going to be there?
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

I'll be there.
Indeed, Baldy, I'll be there.
I'm one of the entertainers for Friday night, and I'll be there all day Saturday looking for opportunities to play, as well.
Friday I'll play a couple sets of traditional Scottish fiddle tunes. I'll likely do a pipe march set, a strathspey set, perhaps an aire, and a jig and a reel set. If you have any requests put them in now so I can learn them!
I've heard the Bonny Knees contest is a real riot! See you there!

Do you remember the Renaissance Scots Living History Association from the Billings festival? We'll be at Jackson, and this time around, I'll actually be along. I would have been in Billings, but my cousin was getting married that weekend, so I had to stay here in Denver. So when you're in Jackson, I will be with the Ren Scots. I'm the clan leather crafter.

Well, the Ren Scots regularly have local musicians at the Colorado festivals play in our pub tent, and since none of our local bands (to my knowledge) are going to be in Jackson, you would be most welcomed!
This time around, the weather was nice enough that they set up outside of the pub... but here's a picture of a couple of the guys from local band Sgain Dubh playing for us!

Just thought I would give this a bump. I'll be there with my family this weekend and we will all be in MacPherson Modern. I'll also probably be wearing a dandelion and a baby. lol. My husband might wear my Xmarksthescot.com cap badge. Either way, we're pretty identifiable and will be there most of the day on Saturday
We've spent the last couple games hanging out chatting up the blacksmith of the Ren Scots so we'll probably see you for sure Nighthawk

Yes ma'am!! As they say in the Marines- I'm cocked, locked, and ready to rock! (Translation- I'm packed, showered and ready to leave!)
So as an amusing aside, I'm camping at the KOA in Rawlins tonight. I decided not to bother bringing a tent since I won't get there until around 9:00 this evening. I'm camping the Highland way- couple sheep skins and my great kilt. Wonder what kind of reaction that's going to get from the other camper... See you all tomorrow at the celiedh!!

The only sheepskins a highlander would have packed around probably still had sheep in them. The trick would be in making them hold still till you wanted to wake up! See you tomorrow night.

Oh and Baldy, there's a house that looks like a castle in Billings (not the Moss Mansion). I grew up in Billings and every time we drove by it, I wanted to go meet the princess that I was convinced lived there It's in the Heights on Lake Elmo Road I think.

I am so late getting out of town... I'm on my way now, though!
