I did that with a pistol awhile back, but I did ask permission to look at it first. I figured that one (looking) logically led to the other (buying), but it turns out not so much.

The wife still refers to it as "The Mad Gun".

I did the same, except it was my mom. I showed up with a trailer in tow, hauling a 1972 Honda Cb350. She got irritated at me. Wasn't even running. I was forced to sell later on.

    One day I will...

Be honest...then explain you expect her to do the same and be frivolous with $500. Then, it's even

Honestly, that's why I don't look at bikes.

I told my wife I went to see the doctor and he said i needed more iron in my diet. So I went out and bought a motorcycle. It worked for me.

It's pretty easy to stash a newly-acquired gun in with the others. They all look pretty much the same to my wife!

Wife (uninterested): "I don't remember that gun."

Me (nonchalant): "This? Oh, I've had it for ages!"

I guess that won't work with motorcycles, though....

I'll just say that it's a good thing it's a bike. Once you show up with it, you can ride off on it to escape her fury ;)

ps: just gas it up before you show her.
