I first got into a Great Kilt for a Ren Fest in Houston, TX. Then to ren fests in North Carolina and the biggie in Maryland. The Loch Norman Highland Games were next and last year Grandfather Mountain! I joined the Clan Hay society at GF. I made my first kilts then Sport Kilt (not what I expected) Now I have a Bearkilt inn Ancient Hay. (most awsome) I have worn the Sport Kilt hiking several times including part of the Appalation Trail. They are the best hiking garment there is. I also played in the Heros Golf tourney last year in a kilt. I just haven't gotten into my kilt enough. My wife worries I might get into a fight or get embarrased if I wear it cassually out in public. Still working on that.
