Tell her you got it as an investment, and tell her she would not believe how many guys on XMTS are interested in it!
Of course, don't tell her that we are not interested in actually BUYING it, but look how many comments you got about it!

So the conversation went something like this:
(walking in the door at 7:00 am, coming home from work)
Wife: 'Morning, dear.
Me: 'Morning
Wife: How was your night?
Me: pretty good. Jobs weren't too bad on time, so my efficiency was pretty good. A few gravy jobs. (I'm a machinist)
Wife: Good. Kids are upstairs getting dressed and we're headed out shopping for school stuff.
Me: Alright. By the way, did I mention I bought a motorcycle?
Wife: ...
Me: It's in the barn.
Wife ...
Me: I got a really good deal on it.
Wife: And how much life insurance do you have again?
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

I used to think that too. But asking for permission is over with a quick "NO". Asking for forgiveness goes on and on and on and on ..................

This whole thread reminded me of when I got the Kilt bug in earnest. I merely "allowed" my wife to help me make up my mind. I showed her what I was interested in, prices, quality and she started looking with me. Last year, she even bought a SportKilt mini for herself. At 55, she was amazed by the attention that she received the remainder fo the day. Ah, The Power of the Kilt!
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

Did you videorecord the event, and send it to your insurance agent?

Make sure she knows the policy is void if she were to be the cause of your demise!

Love it. The only thing that could have been better was a picture of her face when it donned on her what you said. Mine knows how much ins I have, but still gets mad because she seems to think she wants me around for a long time.
