Erudite,
I couldn't agree more. Here in Vancouver we already have a kilts night on the first Saturday of everymonth. Lance in Bozeman, Montana has already organized 3 nights out. The guys in Toronto (and surrounding areas) are organizing their first. I would like to see this as the platform from where we promote our kilts. Once more cities have a kilts night started, we should try to organize a joint cross continent kilt night. I believe that Robert from R kilts proposed a "Virtual Hamish Pub night" for MAy 1st. Robert can you share the details of your idea on this forum please?
Yes Colin I would be happy to.
It's a simple low tech idea. I proposed that on May 1st around the world we put on our kilts and party. Hamish always complains about the cost of travel and everyone asking him to join them. So the plan is that Hamish visits each group virtually...we cut and paste a photo of him at each one of the events around the world. At midnight we toast, to the kilted brethern. Forget the press... they can come if they are properly attired in a kilt. WE report into Tom's and give a tally of how many MUGs were in attendance. Hamish has virtually visited every event(he has a photo to prove it) Cost? The price of a beer, a cab fare you know the drill.. The goal is to see if we can have a million MUGs out that night. It could be a party of one, or a hundred. I dubbed the event, "The virtual Hamish global pub crawl"
I've got a pub crawl slated for Stratford, Ont. that night. It's the first Saturday of the month so no doubt Vancouver will be out. Tom of Toms Cafe said he will plan an event that night as well and so on and so on and so on.
That's it.
Cheers
Robert
