I agree that this is not the place to discuss such issues. However.....

I think if you have a problem with the setting of services you have just not found a denomination to your liking or calling. I go to a contemporary Baptist church wich is more along the lines of Interdenominational. I call it a get up and clap church. I used to be bored by church as well, but I am pretty much on fire now.

    Anyway neither here nor there.

I know more people will chime in on this but lets not let it spill over from this thread at least....

Is there a category here for general conversation and things such as this? As men, we are more than just our kilts.

Well. I have thought about an "Off-Topic" forum, but I wasnt too sure about it b/c I wanted the nature of this board to stay pure. I know we all have thoughts on things besides kilts but I am afraid of it turning into something other than a kilt forum.

What do you guys think? Should I add an "Off-Topic" or "General Conversation" forum?

    Ah, Hank,

Chacun a son gout. My favourite phrase. It means 'each to his own'. Many have tried to convince me and have failed. I know where I want to be and who I want to be. I'm happy. If there is a God he will understand where I'm at and forgive my idiosynchracies.

I just like my spiritual moments to be private. I won't say anymore on the subject. Don't want to get too heavy!

Graham, I have no problem with gay marriage at all. If gays marry it doesn't affect my life in the least and if they wish to make such a commitment it's fine with me. The real issues at stake are health benefits and right of inheritance. Points I feel strongly about are that an anti gay amendment to the Constitution would be the first time it was amended to discriminate against a group of citizens and that the Federal Govt, IMO, has no authority in the area of marriage. It's been a matter for the several States and the Feds have usurped quite enough power already without allowing them to steal even more.

Hank, I agree with David from Maryland. As men we are more than our kilts. An off topic area would be nice, but should have some guidelines. We have seen topics get way too out of hand over at Tom's. and I wouldn't like to see that happen here. I would love to have an off topic area if we could all be civilized and respect each other's opinions.
