Ron...meant to respond to this yesterday, but I guess I got sidetracked. I got the instructions on how to make them from a combination of Youtube videos and Arlen's knitting blog. I knew nothing about knitting...but learned how to cast on and do a garter stitch by watching a Youtube video or two. Then I learned how to make the fringe from Arlen's blog that I think I found the link for on this thread.
