Does anyone watch Monarch of the Glen on BBC?
Just curious. I have only watched a couple of minutes of a show. It seems to be a part drama-part
comedy. I was just wondering if it was any good.
They have one charter, Duncan, who
wears a kilt all the time.
I hate to waste my time on it if some of you
know its rotten. So what is your take on it?

Hi Nelson
'Monarch...' is good family viewing for a Sunday night. A little bland, but some of the storylines are entertaining and you get to see guys in kilts! (With the emphasis heavily on the kilts here!)
It helps if you have a knowledge of the first few series as they keep harping back to characters now either dead or gone.
Duncan (Hamish Clarke) is very good, and heads the casual kilt wearing stakes. Not seen him in anything else. Then you get the formal gatherings incorporated into the storylines.
Give it a go. A bit twee, but you will enjoy the ambiance of it.

Monarch was what got me back into a kilt back in November...It is like a soap opera, comedy and alternate universe all in one...oh yeah...guys in kilt too!
I think it is a good show and like Al' said it's good family orientated programming.

Monarch is not on Ozzie telly right now but I recently bought series one on DVD, I love it!
Duncan is my hero, I love the way he runs aboot in a casual kilt all day.
He was a big influence for me too in getting into kilts.

Monarch Web Site
Hi All, Visit the Monarch web site http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/tv/monarch/ .I am a fan. It good old fashioned Sunday Evening viewing. Programmes with a Scotish theme have always had a special place in BBC scheduling for Sunday nights. It has good links. Especially those that talk about the locations. Duncan is a hero because he wears the kilt but I have to say his taste in shirts and jumpers is beyond the pale.
Happy Kilting

Duncan
Come on guys, give poor Duncan a break. Some folk will always look a mess no matter what they wear or how long they take to get ready. Duncan is one of those guys.
The fact that he wears a kilt all the time is enough!
The worst sight to date was when he was stewarding the formal Clan gathering, wearing a Montrose Doublet with the flap folded back and t shirt underneath. He looked right messy!

BBC America
Every weekday at 2, Saturdays at noon and Sundays at 4, I enjoy watching Monarch of the Glen on BBC America. I've been watching for awhile, and it is my favorite television program to date. It's a soap opera, but the acting is better than anything here in the Americas. I give it every reccomendation.

I have begun to record it while I'm at work and
watching it in the evenings. It is great fun!
I'm really glad I started. I only wished they were
showing them from the beginning. I'm sure they will
make it back around.
