My applause to this kilt comment
Last night the GF and I stopped by a coffee shop. A couple of patched bikers (club unimportant) said "dude, you're only wearing that for the breeze"
I laughed out loud and thanked them for the laugh.
Note to self: not all kilt comments are dumb.

FREEDOM!!
Yesterday stopped for lunch at a remote diner packed with bikers. Was wearing my green leather RKilt. Got lots of looks and double takes, but nary a comment.

Added that one to the file automatically. Always good when the observer can add to the wearer's list of responses for people in the future.

It is a good idea to have a benign sense of humor when outnumbered by three-patch bikers. They can be friendly and hospitable, but they aren't gregarious, as a rule. They mostly leave outsiders alone, and they are touchy about respect and very aware of "colors".

Which is exactly why I thanked them for the laugh. They them respect and they will return it.

Love that one. My husband likes to show people his built in fan (pleats)

I have ways found that a sence of humor and good dose of respect given and taken has served me well in situations that could turn sour.
Please excuse the spelling errors. My IPhone is "helping" me.

Bikers, for the most part, respect those who dare to be free-thinkers and live outside the norm. I know, I used to be one.
