Re: Steel Horses, any in your barn?

After many, many years of touring bikes, I finally realized I wasn't going cross country anymore and my wife had lost the desire to ride much. So, I downsized to a street cruiser which has been surprisingly enjoyable. Enough horses for the 2-3 hour highway trips, but much easier around town.

Here is the granddaughter in her best "can I please go for a ride" pose.....

Down sized to a 650 V-Strom a couple years ago and couldn't be happier... Even though I took the Yamaha Super Tenere for a demo ride at the Ocean city bike week today.... Very nice!

Re: Steel Horses, any in your barn?

Ive ridden HDs and metrics and enjoy them both. In an ideal world, when I pick up a Harley (hoping for pre-2002, carburated and rigid mounted Evo) I'll keep my current scoot and turn it into a rigid bobber.
    Time will tell...

Also, thanks to one and all for posting up pics of your bikes.

Here's what a buddy of mine did to his V-Star.

Here's mine. Haven't ridden kilted -- not sure if that's a "yet" or not

Also have 81 Honda Silverwing GL-500 and a Honda Trail-90 (CT90) but no pics available on this computer.

    Thanks!

Took a bit of getting used to -- handles quite a bit different from both a two-wheeler and a trike. Got it mainly for the wife -- straddling the bike after her hip replacement surgery turned out to be a no-no so this is our answer. Does attract attention, though, almost as much as a kilt

Ha. I used to have to help work on a Honda Silverwing back in the nineties. Usually balancing the engine on a jack while the other person tried to put the lug nuts in. I hated that, but it brings back memories. He was rebuilding it one piece at a time.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
