very nice looking kilt. I've always liked the colours of that tartan which remind me of a nice forest scene in the fall.

Here is the source of my outfit in the pic:
Bonnet by Ryan Ross, Scottish Tartans Museum; Dandelion from Jo-Ann Fabrics; Sweater by CHAPS; Belt and sporran belt from Mojo Leather; Sporran by Joe Gondek; Red suede belt pouch (holds my Nikon Coolpix S230 camera) purchased at Ohio Renaissance Festival; of course Batley Maple Leaf 5-yard kilt by Rocky, USA Kilts; Lewis hose from Scottish Tartan Museum; Garter ties hand-knit by my lady (wife of 46 years, Sandy), GBX shoes.

That is a great looking kilt, and accessories, and a testament to all of the fine crafters on this board.

Very nice Wally. I was wondering how red hose would look with that tartan. The answer is "great!"

Re: Thanks Rocky, my Batleys Maple Leaf kilt
Thanks largely to you, my SO is about to be somewhat PO'd at me. Been looking at these pics, loving the colors of the tartan. . .Mind you, I already have a wool shirt and a "steamer robe" in it, from Pendleton in Oregon.
So looking at the pics I've been thinking about getting Rocky to make me yet another kilt, in this one. But I found myself strangely reluctant, even knowing that I really need no justification to get a kilt made in any tartan I like. I still had that feeling of "wanting a connection" other than just liking it.
Then I remembered my late Comanche medicine woman/paternal aunt, Seago Blackstar Whitewolf, telling me once that part of our particular Seago bloodline includes some Cree from southern Canada.
So I thought about it a wee bit more.
Then over the weekend I mentioned to my lass that I was pondering it. Her response was, "Honey, I don't think you need another kilt".
Whereupon I of course stopped thinking altogether and ordered it. I fear it's a Seago genetic response to perceived challenges.

I'm killed in the war or hung during peace."

Dale,
With your paternal aunt southern Canada connection, you are certainly justified in your order of the Maple Leaf kilt. Enjoy it in good health.
