    Didn't the Danes visit Scotland a lot from about the ninth century on? Some of your relatives no doubt. Welcome to the rabble from the Highlands of Montana.
    Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

    So, the story goes, yes, and that legend, the legend of how the thistle came to be a Scottish national emblem is the inspiration for the tarten design mentioned in my intro. I've used an image of it for my avatar.
