Tartan help?
This is a recreation I did on the tartan designer at TartanWeb. I found this at a fabric store for $4/yd and decided I couldn't go wrong for my first attempt at sewing my own kilt. It's a poly/cotton/olefin blend 6yds @ 54", 6" sett. Looks to me to be a Gunn variation.

Re: Tartan help?
It's standard Gunn and not a variation.

Thanks for the help. I do still think it is a slight variation from what I have seen for a standard Gunn the wide black, blue and green stripes should be of equal threadcount and the red stripe should be slightly wider.

If one looks at Wilsons' samples of this and also MacKay (same sett with black for red) then they wove various proportions of the large B, K and G grounds and they were not always the same width or uniformly different i.e. sometimes the B was wider, sometime the K and so on.
Standard Gunn as you use the term is a C20th concept and even then one would fine variations between different manfacturers.
