First Time at a Celtic Festival --Kilted

I went to my first Celtic Festival this past weekend. It was the Chesapeake Celtic Festival which takes place at Furnace Town near Snow Hill MD on the Eastern Shore. It was also my first time wearing my kilt in public. I had a great time. It was less nerve wracking due to other people being Kilted. Funny thing is that I ran into two family friends and a coworker. None of whom were wearing kilts. All were surprised!

    Fun wasn't it?

The next step is a non-Celtic/Scottish event. Once you have weathered that, you can wear your kilt anywhere and at any time.

    Regards

It's important your first public kilting went well. Very good for you.

My first was this year for Burns Night, many kilts. Now I find any excuse or none at all to wear the kilt. I'm planning to sew my next one and puchase my own Argyl Jacket. I have also found a nice tweed I will be converting for day wear. So be prepared for the addiction to begin to rage.

Ahh now that you have started there is no getting rid of the sickness. Best to just give in and start looking for more options to wear the kilt. Once you get to wear you don't really think about throwing it on for no real reason what so ever there is truly no going back. Glad the first outing went well, and here's hoping all future trips are as successful.
