    Leatherneck Kilt for around $100?

Does anybody have any idea if a Leatherneck kilt can be had for around $100, outside of Stillwater and Sportkilt? Acrylic is acceptable, PV or other blend would be preferred. Looking for a friend. Any current opinions on Kiltmart's products?

What measurements is your friend looking for? I have a wool Leatherneck kilt that I'd be willing to part with if it fits him. PM me for details if it sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Just my unsolicited opinion....but....some tartans should be sewn up into hand sewn kilts....the Leatherneck tartan is soooo beautiful when hand sewn from wool - a whole better gooder sharper look than when presented in synthetic fabrics.

    Worth saving for.

Only way your friend or you will find an inexpensive leatherneck kilt is one that is made from synthetic fabrics...kiltmaker won't be able to change that synthetic look.

    Thanks Brad, PM sent.

Ron, I agree 100%. He has a SWK acrylic, but it has taken quite a beating. He wanted to get another, but they don't have any in his size right now so he's looking for alternatives in his price range.

Just a thought to throw out.... Jerry at SWK is a really great guy. If the tartan is not available in his size it might be worth dropping him a line and inquiring about time lines. I needed a nighstalker leather sporran and they were out of stock and I had an email from Jerry before the box was unpacked.

And to add to this, Jerry has at times had the Leatherneck in his heavyweight (wool) kilt. Email him and see if it's worth ordering, for just a lbit over $100.

He's tried with Jerry but at the moment, there is nothing to be had in his size, acrylic or wool. Outside of Sportkilt, finding a knockaround in this tartan is a bit difficult. Hopefully his measurements will get him into flyrod's offer.

    Thanks guys.

Hey Mickey - have you checked out the Frugal Corner? I haven't been to that site is a while but I remember they offered the Leatherneck at a reasonable price.

I had a Sportkilt in Leatherneck. NOT the way to cure a kilt jones, in my opinion... Pretty much the only thing a Sportkilt is good for is, well, some type of sport! Running, or throwing cabers, yes. Knocking around or pubbing? Nay.
