    Kilt Belts in the US

Anyone know a good place to get a kilt belt in the United States? After 5 years of kilt wearing I've finally decided to add one to my outfit, but can't find any US dealers.

    Chris,

You could try eBay. There's a guy in PA who has an amish craftsman custom make kilt belts for people. They're expensive (about twice the cost of the usual 2.25" kilt belt), but worth it, even tho I don't own one yet. Smallest size the guy sells is a 3" wide belt, the other size is a 4".

    Check the link above...

Stay away from the ScotlandYard.com belt. Mine was really cheesy quality. (Pakistani) At $80 (with shipping) not worth it. I have an L&M Nova Scotia Canada That doenn't quite fit anymore that is much better made. Maybe their kilts are better.

    kilt belts

This won't be to everyones taste but for an informal cheap belt the old waist safety belts from oldish cars (like an aircraft seat belt) can look good with casual kilts.

    Kilt belts

    Check out Celtic Empire.
I know several people, including myself, that are extremely happy with Rudi's belts. I hope to sell them on my site soon. I have two of Rudi's belts and he makes the beautiful Celtic knotwork sporrans I sell on my site.
All his stuff is top class.
For about $45.00 US, you can have a great looking belt with a pewter buckle, (beautiful knot work on it), and you'll never regret it.

    Belts

I am a maker of kilt belts. I do not have them on my web site but if you go to Ameri Kilts Web Site, I am the guy "Mike in Virginia" who makes their belts. I do not have them on my web site but the web address is:

    www.saxonsquire.com

E-mail me and tell me you found me through this Forum and I will give you a quote. I am not posting my prices, I do not want to take anything away from the fine folks at Ameri Kilts. There are my finest cutomers and I do not want to have there customers contacting me to under cut them. We all need to make a living and support our passion for kilts.

Perhaps I am missing something, but I couldn't find Kilt Belts listed on celticempire's site. Did I overlook it?

One type of belt that works great with a kilt is a leather tool type belt, the type that is used to support tool pouches. Some home improvement stores have them. They're plain leather with a double prong buckle designed for slide on tool pouches. Another that would look good is a weight lifting belt. Plain leather and very rugged.
