    Re: New MacKay Weathered

    Thanks for the comments

For those who like the hose, they are made by House of Cheviot and are the range they call "Border Check". The colour is Bison

Hi davidg, the 'MacKay' looks great weathered and your choice of hose is perfect.
Wear it with pride (now where did I put my shopping list)?

Aye. I'll be adding that to my own list as well.

    Re: New MacKay Weathered

Nice to see some of the Border Check hose being worn! I find the pattern on the hose very attractive, though subtle. I think people tend to be more drawn to the bolder, eye catching patterns when shopping, but sometimes subtle is all you need. I think this can be especially true when coordinating with the already toned-down weathered tartans.

I have a pair of their Border Check hose in blue mix (lovat blue) which I enjoy wearing with my weathered Armstrong kilt.

Ooh I like that. the sporran goes nicely with the rest. also, where the hell do I get myself an affordable day sporran (that means between 0 and 30 euros)

That won't be easy unless you either go for second hand or one of the sporrans from Pakistan

To be honest the basic Pakistan sporrans are not necessarily bad but the workmanship can vary when for perhaps an extra 20 euros or so on top of your budget you could get a very nice plain leather sporran from a craftsman

The sporran I'm wearing came from http://www.caledoniancreations.com/S...rans-page2.htm but you can find the Pakistan replicas on ebay at far less. Just don't expect them to last the same way

This is similar to what I have, might be worth to bid on it. Vintage is usually better than new if you're on a budget
