Day wear yes, I don't know if I'd call it casual, though.

When I had that double made for myself, I decided to have it made from Harris Tweed. The idea was put into my head by Bob Martin, who said he had one once upon a time. I thought the idea worth trying, both because I love tweed, and also because I thought it might give me the opportunity to wear the doublet outside of formal eveningwear.

My worry was that I would end up with something not suitable for either day or evening attire, but after having the double for a couple of years, I have to say I am very happy with it. I've worn it to a few formal dinners and it always draws compliments. This is the first time I've worn it for daywear, however. I decided to wear with with a plain, cream colored silk cravat, and a similarly cream colored shirt (not white). No lace jabot or cuffs. And I thought the sporran I chose similar in style to the doublet in that it was a bit "fancier" than typical daywear, but made from materials suitable to wear during the day (leather in place of a chrome cantle in this case).

Again, the doublet drew several compliments and I think it did the task quite well!

My wife calls this one my Hufflepuff sporran (for all you Harry Potter fans). It's a Ferguson Britt sporran, as most of mine are.

It is the same style as the Inverarnan, in fur, made with the half-octagon shape cantle. I had him leave off the usual tassels, so the natural elements of the fur could shine a bit more. I love this style sporran for it's roomy pouch and wide mouth.

Badger fur is both thick, soft, and has attractive coloring, so I've wanted one for a while now. Any of the Ferguson Britt sporrans can be made with Badger fur.

Slightly off topic but... I recently found an original piece of Wilsons' Gordon/Old Huntly dating to c1780-1800.

I need to make a roadtrip down there one of these years.
I really like that sherrifmuir, Matt. Once college is done, I'll have to save up for one of those in Harris Tweed.
