Here's a few semi formal ( I had taken my tie and vest off ) and a few a little more dressy.

CADPAT kilt, black shirt, Transformers cufflinks, Autobot sporran, black hose with camo garter ties

I feel left out. Im going to play regardless:

-26" ladies skirt in Londonderry tartan
-my awesome knee high brown leather boots
-a white cashmere sweater either tucked in or not...undecided
-a brown scarf that match my boots.

Ok, I keep wondering something in the back of my mind, and I think I can work it in as an accessory.

I have kilt-waist-length hair, and wear it in a ponytail most times. In the black tie situation, does one leave one's hair in a ponytail or have it braided in some fancy way or what?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Ive always seen it combed neatly and pulled back into a pony at the nape of the neck.

But a braid might not be a bad idea! I think that could look really awesome. I think I'd rather see a braid at a formal event since the pony is worn all the time.

Thanks, Meghan. My hair is not curly. A simple braid, or some sort of French braid?

I think I'd stay away from a french braid since that can be a little too feminine. Maybe youtube a fishtail braid tutorial!

Just start the braid at the nape and not up at the top of the head since that looks too feminine, at least to me. The braids starting at the nape are masculine
