Re: Halloween Costumes
I'm going as your fairy Godfather. Black dress shirt, white tie, white suspenders.... Also, a fedora, & fat cigar. Yeah, I got the Chicago piano in a violin case even! But also tights, tutu, ballet slippers and fairy wings!
It's gonna be a blast!

You're going to have to post pictures of that one, Sushi, so I can read the comments.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I plan on posting some pictures (if I can figure out how to do it). Good luck with all of your costumes and have a safe & fun Halloween!
Looking forward to seeing those pix.

I've done that but never to tha extreme!! Mine was just an addition of wings and a cane to a suit and fedora.
You know how to take it over the top!!!!
Amy and I are headed back out to Disneyland for a late birthday gift for me. One of my bucket items is Holloween at Disney. We picked up a couple shelf costumes of vampires (look at my handle if you're curious) for wearing to the Mickey's Not So Scarey Holloween.
We wanted steam punk or pirates but we would have had to start those early to do them right. We'll get around to them since both are popular with Ren Fairs.
And, per Amy, they have awesome hats.

Drac,
Make sure you tell the engineer that you want to ride up front in the engine on the train. It's first come first serve, but it's worth it to see Disney from the front of the train.
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

Re: Halloween Costumes
I've quietly acquired a very nice airsoft version of the Webley revolver and a bullwhip over the past coupla weeks. I already wear the brown fedora and leather jacket so all I'll have to do is exchange some khaki's for my usual bluejueans and it's Instant Indy.
Last year was the year of the custom ordered spandex The Flash costume and, frankly, I was very disappointed by the strange receptions that I got from a lot of my friends. Consider that while I'm not still a 145 pound twenty year old, I'm still in reasonable shape for my age and took some pains to both suppress the beer gut and keep all dangling participles secured AND IT WAS FRICKIN' HALLOWEEN...I was always under the impression that you were supposed to get a little crazy for the holiday (one of my favorite attendees from the comic book conventions that I've attended has been "fat Spiderman"; a guy who's literally ooozing out of his spandex and walking around with a beer and a smoke in each hand...) so the lack of a sense of humor among my friends was pretty much a disappointment. C'mon, folks...lighten up!
I'm being sure that the Indy "weapons" are securely locked down just in case some fellow party goer decides that he might want to play with them and put an eye out...there's always one at every party. I am having fun learning how to crack the whip, though...even though I will most certainly NOT be doing a demonstration at the party.
Best
AA

Re: Halloween Costumes
I did Temple of Doom Indy a couple of years ago, revolver, machette, whip, hat, old british MkII gas mask bag. I also took a safari shirt and ripped the sleeve off a la:

Maybe next year I'll do Professor Jones when he's in the classroom.

WOAH! You looked just like the real Indy!
I dont know what I will be Maybe just an old school ghost since I'm boring and dont do anything for Halloween except pass out candy and watch scary movies with my parents (wow.....and yes, I am in college. lol) My mom is putting huge glittery fake eyelashes on. we'll see how long she will keep them on.
I'll end up putting something together. One year my aunt donated her old wedding dress and let me drag it all over the yard, rip it up, and dress up as a bride zombie. Cliche but was fun to destroy a wedding dress
