Prince Charles Duke of Rothesay in kilt photos

He's not my favorite person but he really knows how to look good in a kilt. Of course he has had people dressing him since he was a young lad so you would expect him to know how to wear it well but I really like the subtle use of colours.

I also like those hose, the green with the blue checked tops

He reminds me of a well dress 'laird' that I used to see when I was young

One thing that I noticed while going through the entire thread is that HRH rarely wears a belt. There was one photo where he wore one with a PC, which I will normally not do, but for all of the day-wear photos he was without, unless it was hidden under the square-cut vest.

Eric...this has been discussed at length in several past threads. Wearing a belt with a kilt is generally done for looks/fashion rather than for any practical purpose. A well fitted kilt has no need of a belt...and the added bulk at the waist is generally considered unnecessary and undesirable when the kilt is worn in combination with a waistcoat/vest. So, in general...wear a belt, or wear a waistcoat...but not both. Some of our members here wear neither belt nor vest.

The purpose belts serve: (1) Break up (visually) the long waist on the kilt when no vest is worn, or, (2) for attaching a dirk with full formal wear.

Finally...I've been through this thread and don't recall HRH ever wearing a PC...I might be wrong. Are you maybe referring to the picture of him wearing a "Balmoral" doublet? I don't think I've ever seen him in a PC. Which post are you referring to?
