    1822 commerative jacket

    Hey everyone
I'm thinking about going to Mackenzie Frain and purchase a 1822 commerative jacket for my kilt does anyone here have one and does anyone know where I can get a ruffled shirt that i can put a cravat onto that is accurate for the period?

There are number portraits and extant examples of the period which clearly demonstrate that other than wanting to commemorate KGIV's visit, or is that simply sell more stuff , these 1822 jackets have no connection with the Regency era Highland Dress at which time all jackets were tartan and closed. The shirt would therefore have been plain with or without a stock depending on the jacket style.

That's not to put you off choosing one but don't fooled into thinking that they are historically correct for 1822.

Thanks very much mate, I wasn't really going for historically just a good looking jacket but thank you very much for your opinion
