Does this look like a good deal?

Found this and some similar 8 yard wool kilts on ebay. finally one in my size, but I don't know if it's a good deal, or just some middle man type thing. I know stillwater sells wool kilts for 150 so Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-yard-wool-...#ht_500wt_1287 Thanks.

It says they're ex-hire, so I'd imagine that these are good-quality kilts.

Check out the sellers feedback - all good from previous buyers and it appears it is all ex hire stock. It's one of those things - you've just got to decide whether to pull the trigger or not.

Looks like a nice Ex-hire, what matters is the seller does take return so look at those details. Ive found some nice things via Ebay and shopgoodwill.

I havent bought from that seller before but that looks like a beautiful tartan.

Ex-hire kilts are usually very good quality as they are built to last. If its the correct size for you and there are no flaws then I think you cant go far wrong. And you'll have yourself a true 16oz wool Scottish kilt

I agree with all so far. If you like the tartan, and it fits you and your budget, then it seems like a fine deal. As you know that's about half price of new and unless its damaged or worn then you will have saved quite a bit of money to put towards hose, flashes, jacket, sporran.......

If you'd like to see that tartan in action "Panache" has a nice kilt in it and some photos posted with accessories.

    Enjoy!

If you buy a kilt from the UK you'd also have to factor in the shipping and customs costs and it goes without saying that for any 2nd hand kilt, you make sure you have it dry cleaned before wearing

I don't know where you are in the world, so that affects my answer. I am in the UK and for me that would be a good deal.

Re: Does this look like a good deal?

Thanks fellas, I'm always leery when buying stuff on ebay, especially when it's something i know little about. I ended up ordering a UK yesterday. I just couldn't make up my mind, and finally just decided to pull the trigger. I figure being new to the kilt thing, I thought I might be more comfortable at first, in something modern. Just a head thing I guess. figured I'd be less likely to chicken out wearing it. Now I think about it, and it probably would be less odd, to the people where I live, wearing something people are used to associating with a kilt, the tartan fabric. Oh well, have to start somewhere. I plan on having different styles in the future anyway, So I'll keep my eye out for more deals like this, but man it's in my size and everything. seems a shame to pass it up...

I'll tell you what though, if I can sell a couple things around the house, I'm ordering this bad boy. 8 yard of wooly bliss sounds pretty good, and I don't know how I can beat the price.
