I work as an assistant English teacher in Japan. I ordered my first kilt a little over a month ago (hopefully it will come soon :o ). I originally was intending to wear it mostly on weekends. However, since ordering my kilt some of the teachers saw me looking at kilt pages online and asked me about it. When the word got around the office that I was buying a kilt I started recieving quite a bit of pressure to wear the kilt in school.

The English teachers will be happy to take me to class and have me explain about it so that they can get out of teaching for half of a class period, and the home economic teachers also want me to go to their sewing classes and talk about the kilt.

This has made me decide that I will make the switch to kilts full time and stop wearing pants, except when participating in sports that require a uniform. Well, at least until winter, which gets cold here in Hokkaido. Not quite as cold as it does in my home town, but the humidity is higher here which can make it feel a lot colder.
