belt bag I "made" & new kilt pin

Today I went and got a new hat (on sale too) ... I also got a kilt pin (my first real kilt pin other than the free large safety pin I got with my kilt)

The kilt pin is 'Anderson' which was my mother's family name from the southwest coast of Newfoundland. It shows an oak tree and the words 'stand sure'. This is better than the large 'safety pin' I got when I got my kilt.

You can see my other scarves (black and very dark bronze-like stripes) used as leg wrappings and the book laces winding up the calves and tied and then above that tie another lace wrapped a few times around the top of the calf and tied. I kind of like the archaic look and they are quite warm.

I also include pics showing my "belt-bag". I cut this off the front of a back-sack that was getting kind of worn out (used since 2006). This is the small set of pouches on the front of the back-sack and lets me carry everything I need for quick access (water, watch, wallet, change bag, etc). I attached three brass-coloured metal plates to the front to cover where a logo had been (it's a bit crooked so I'll have to reattach soon). It has the belt run through two slots in back and also a long cord (basically a long black boot lace) goes through two loops and around me to keep it from moving around.

A nice combination, you look ready for adventure. It looks like you are enjoying the creativity. Ive found a Czech leather ammo bags I plan to make a sporran out of. It may take a little leather conditioner and elbow grease but has the possibilities of a nice sporran.. Keep up the good work, and very nice kilt pin too..

I have an Anderson kilt hanging in the kilt kloset. I was just about to modify it. I've tried to sell it, but it didn't. I also have some kilt hoses that are sleeping in a drawer.
PM me if you are interrested. Heck, I'll give you the hoses....

You know, had I just read a list of all you were wearing without being able to see it, my reaction would have been different. I really like what you've done--you've made the kilt work for you!
