Re: Men of Xmarks in Salado

These Games were the best at Salado in years. Great to see some of the rabble again. It was a long day balancing a Scout camporee and the gathering, but anytime you can spend a weekend in a kilt is a good weekend.

Re: Men of Xmarks in Salado

There are so many good things about these photos. First, yes, it is good to be able to put names to faces. A handsome lot of lads, you are! The different kilts make the photos interesting, and I like seeing the craftwork of the accessories 'in action'. Rather than just a photo of the artists' works, it is interesting to see how they are put together with kilts, hose, etc., by XMarks members. Thanks for posting the photos! Looks like all of you were having a great time!

I always enjoy these kilted rabble photos which have captions which match usernames with faces.
    Hear, Hear! Great photos!

I also appreciate the variety of styles shown in these pics. Very interesting to compare (not judge, of course) this to the pics in a recent thread about the Aboyne Highland games...

Re: Men of Xmarks in Salado

I very much enjoyed meeting up with "the rabble" at the 50th anniversary of the Salado Scottish & Clan Gathering & Highland Games. We did have some very gusty winds that Saturday, and it was chilly enough in the morning for another layer. I wore my black, V-neck woolly-pully, but had to shed it for the warm afternoon when it hit 79 or 80F.

It wouldn't be right for me not to acknowledge and credit OCRichard and Artificer for my sporran. I got the cantle from OC and Artificer put that together with some good pigskin. I'm very pleased with the results! Thanks, guys!

Second from right, in the Scouting gear and Cameron of Erracht kilt, is my old college friend David Chambers! Great seeing you out and about in kilts Dave!

I believe David is an XMarker but I don't know his screenname.
