I made mine.

Re: Where'd ya'll get your cool kilt belts?
GGGP - I'm not sure of your price point for a nice buckle, but last spring I commissioned Mortenson Silver and Saddles to make me a Western/Southwest buckle for a belt make by Tobus's wife. The belt and buckle I wear with my kilts even though they are non-traditional to Scotland. The buckle was patterned after a buckle my father wore nearly every day of his life so my kilt buckle serves as a reminder of my father. Clint Mortenson created a beautiful buckle, one that I'll pass on to my son.

Both of my belts were from Rocky at USA Kilts.

Me too. And to that end, I haven't worn visible garters in like two or three years.
Problem solved.

Re: Where'd ya'll get your cool kilt belts?
First I should say that I rarely wear a dirk belt, as I'm usually wearing a waistcoat or jacket and I don't like wearing a belt under those.
For many years I wore this belt buckle with my kilts. I picked up this vintage waistbelt and crossbelt set at a local Games and mounted the hardware on new belts. (The matching brooch was found on Ebay 20 years later.)

I sold that set to a piper in Scotland a few years ago.
Nowadays I wear this modern deer's head Celtic buckle by Glen Esk, one of the few modern designs that strikes me as having a nice vintage look. I think it looks good with my vintage sporran cantle

So I am afraid that you'll find these too wide to wear with jeans.

Yes, Matt, mostly true. However, I can wear my 3.5 inch diameter 'kilt' buckle on a 1.25 or 1.5 inch belt, and I do this with blue jeans all the time.

You can get them on eBay, but you can also get them from XMarks advertisers and sponsors like Stillwater.
