    Re: Norfolk

While in Thetford, the Quaich visited the Thomas Paine statue.

Englishman by birth, French Citizen by decree, American by adoption.

He wrote the book "The Rights of Man" and was influential in the French Revolution and American Independence.

After passing the 800 year old King's House,

    And the Guildhall and Court

We walked by the river and met up with Captain George Mainwaring

And spent some pleasant time discussing the plots of Dad's Army, which was filmed only 1/2 mile from where I live.

A little bit more to come.

    Regards

    Chas

    Re: Norfolk

I took the Quaich to my Scottish Country Dancing Club in Bury St Edmunds.

Here is one of the members reading the journal.

And here we all are posing with the Quaich

There is only one more photograph - when the SCARF and the Quaich got together

Unfortunately, East Anglia tends to shut up shop at the end of September and doesn't re-open till March. If I am ever lucky enough to host the Quaich again, I would hope that it would be in summertime, when there are things going on. It would be so nice to take it to Harpenden for the Gathering.

As I write this, The Quaich has already been despatched to its next destination.

    Where is that you ask?

Have patience, I say, all will be revealed in a short time...

    Regards

    Chas

Superb Chas, and the visit with Captain Mainwaring was brilliant (one of my all time favorite TV shows) Thanks for the tour of your part of the world. Cheers
