Royal Air Force Tartan on the Painted Desert
Went down to the Tuba City Swap meet today. Took a dirt road shortcut across the Painted Desert and through Moenave, Arizona
The dirt rez road to Moenave. The trees you see poking up on the right are in Monave.
While I was shooting pics a Navajo family in a pick up towing a horse trailer came rumbling down the road. They stopped and very kindly said, "Are you lost?" Makes sense if you run into a kilted guy on the backroads of the rez. Assured them I was a local, knew the road, was headed in to Tuba City for the swap meet. Nice gesture on their part though.
For geography buffs this is the far NW end of the Painted Desert that most folks think of as being down at the SE end around Winslow, Arizona. But it runs on across the rezlands.
