Royal Air Force Tartan on the Painted Desert

Went down to the Tuba City Swap meet today. Took a dirt road shortcut across the Painted Desert and through Moenave, Arizona

The dirt rez road to Moenave. The trees you see poking up on the right are in Monave.

While I was shooting pics a Navajo family in a pick up towing a horse trailer came rumbling down the road. They stopped and very kindly said, "Are you lost?" Makes sense if you run into a kilted guy on the backroads of the rez. Assured them I was a local, knew the road, was headed in to Tuba City for the swap meet. Nice gesture on their part though.

For geography buffs this is the far NW end of the Painted Desert that most folks think of as being down at the SE end around Winslow, Arizona. But it runs on across the rezlands.

Fabulous pics Ron and a good choice of kilt!

A short cut that looks well worth getting lost on for awhile. Even on a trip to the swap meet you find wonderful surroundings in your neck of the woods.

Love the pictures and what a wonderful blue sky. Not seen any blue for a few weeks now.

Can you bottle some blue sky and send it over to Scotland.
