A source for belts for the kilt, check out your local gun shop/ surplus / or Law Enforcement supply. The local shop here has a box with loads of silightly used gun belts. These belts are made to stand up to the rigors of Law Enforcement, many were patent leather or basket weave. A good option to have. Paticualry for those, like me, whose front has a different zip code than his rear. Dave Large, in charge and proud of every inch!!
Dave: I like wearing "Wilderness-Tactical" style belts with my kilts. They are infinitely adjustable, easy to adjust and, of course, allow the wearer to carry all kinds of accessories attached to the belt. John
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.
I've always liked a basket weave design - unfortunately we don't see a lot of it here in the UK. Regards Chas
I have a smooth black leather duty belt that I wear for casual occasions. Without a waistcoat, of course. I really like it: looks smart and its very solid.

I often wear my old Sam Brown/Duty Belt in basketweave with a brass buckle (before I switch to nylon duty gear) with my kilt when I go pub crawling. Very casual and looks great.
