Never had bad word, even from the rough types in the pub.
Go for it, Al. I'll bet you are surprised ( and delighted) at the response.
I think I'm following a similar pattern. Gradually creeping forwards, inch by inch. I've only had my kilt for a year and have worn it much more than I expected.
Wearing it for SCD seems the most natural thing in the world to do. Why change out of it to go to the pub. Even better if others do likewise.
