Re: Special pocketed Sporran
Sounds like a great new product, Steve! I was wondering, though, would a traditional 'day sporran' design have to be up-scaled to hold all that stuff? The one I have would be way too small for that. I don't know how it would be possible to hold a paperback book in there without drastically increasing the size of the sporran.
Also, I'm wondering what kind of specification you came up with for a pocket that can hold a mobile phone. Those silly things come in all shapes and sizes.
I've got a custom DIY project that I'm starting on, which will have a sleeve on the back panel specifically for my phone. This is the direct result of a "sporran dialing" incident that happened about a month ago, where I had my phone loose in my sporran with all my other stuff, and it somehow started calling people (unbeknownst to me) and doing other random stuff.
But I'm almost afraid to do it, since it will likely become useless when I upgrade my phone (whenever that might happen). If I build it to fit my current phone exactly, I risk it being too small for a future phone. But if I build it for a large phone, I risk my current phone tumbling around in there. I wonder if maybe an elastic sleeve would be best, so that it can accommodate several sizes/shapes.

Tobus you can always sew in a four inch square piece of female velcro and make the cell pocket on a piece of male velcro then you could update and change with your phone.

I handle that with this leather phone sleeve for my iPhone 4s:

I also carry it that way at work in the breast pocket of my suit jacket.
