    A Wee Kilt Question

I was speaking with my wife today and she asked a question that I said I would look into. The question is does any kilt maker/dealer have kilts small enough for Babies? It actually doesn't even need to be a real kilt more like a pleated skirt. Sorry about using the S word but I think it is completely alright in that case.

I am intrested in a wee "kilt" in size 6-12 months, has anyone come across such a thing in there travels. Also kids grow up fast so I am not looking to break the bank on this...

    Thank everyone

    Chris

I think it is a great idea to make baby kilts. When I get around to having kids I would like for my baby to be dedicated in a kilt!

I thought this was an intresting idea as well. I think if the parents have a Kilt it is only fitting that our little ones get a Kilt as well. I know if there was such a thing I would get a couple...

This is a pic I took at Grandfather Mountain last year. My wife and I decided they were the perfect Scottish-American family! See the baby kilt!

My son has had his kilt since just before his second birthday. Check out any local highland games, or Scottish shops. Most will carry a limited selection of kilts (remember kid's ones open on the left because the parents dress the child)such as blackwatch and royal stewart. I don't know if they will make any that small (6-12mos), but you should be able find something for a first birthday at least.

My wife has some fabric and could probably make a Baby Kilt for some interested in it. Go to http://adamsweb.us/kingkilts and send us some info including the measurements and we'll get you an estimate.

I actually made a baby kilt for my nephew using the leftover fabric from one of my kilts. http://www.cheapkilts.net/dekan

    Cub Kilts

I have a Cub Kilt by Bear Kilts on order for my four year old son. $45US plus shipping may be too much for an infant but might be a good deal for a second or third kilt for the little guy.

My son is getting a kilt for his second birthday (this week!) from a friend of mine. I'm not sure where he got it. Hector Russell in toronto has kilts for kids and will custom make one for you if you want.
