    Re: Off-season training

More non-lifting while I wait on my arm to un-tweak itself:

    11/30/11

Light jog & some box jumps to warm up

    PLYOS (Bounding)
    5x LRLR
    5x LLRL
    5x RRLR
    5x Both feet

Felt good today - wanted to follow this up with some throwing, but I think I need to continue to rest my arm a few more days...

    Re: Off-season training

Yours truly is dealing with some significant dizziness and blood pressure issues. This is NOT happy-making, my blood pressure has gone sky-high ever since I donated blood... like 155/80 when I'm standing. When I lie down it drops to 138-142 / 77-80, which is better, but still. In the mornings, right after I get up it's about 132/77. Dizziness comes and goes, mostly associated with climbing stairs, but yesterday I had a session where I was just sitting at the computer writing an e-mail and it hit.

So I am going to be taking it easy for a while. This happened last year at the end of the off-season when I was lifting hard. I think I exacerbated it with the 2 units of blood going away.

Making an appt to see the doc, today.

IANAD - but after giving blood I will take a half-tab of my wife's iron tablets for a week afterwards to help cope with the shivers and dizziness. I avoid iron otherwise as it's not uncommon for me to eat a pound of beef or more in a day, but the iron really does help.

    Re: Off-season training

    Awesome picture!

@Alan, glad to hear the dizziness has subsided.

Finally got to an OC practice this week! Almost, almost starting to get the hang of the WFD. So I tried 2 spins. Ummmmm. Yeah...........
At least I almost made it on the the field.

I believe @Eclarkhb was starting on the 56#, right?!!

After practice, back at home after a good lunch, I played around with the caber which I haven't done in like 5 weeks. I'm getting much better with the pick and bringing it in. I only turned it once, but it was when a pack of joggers were going by on the bike path and they looked stunned. Yay!
