I can speak only for myself in this as a Marine in saying that I would not only be NOT offended by someone in the RAF wearing this tartan, but if I ran into a RAF warrior wearing it, I would be the first in the pub to buy them a pint

Here, here! While I don't generally support non-Marines wearing the leatherneck tartan, I'd be honored (honoured?) to see a UK contemporary sporting our colors.

Really Great Job Guns !!! Mind if I ask you where your Tartan Material was woven or where or whom did you get it from and is it Wool or (Forgive me for asking) PV ??? I don't believe that I have ever seen that much Brilliance in the Marine Tartan colors before.

    Thank you for your time...

OOPS! Sorry about the delayed response!

The kilt's made from 13oz Strathmore wool. I picked it up from Cathy MacWilliams of Fife and Thistle. The colors are quite striking; when I was stitching it up, I noticed the little yellow squares where the tartan lines intersect were the brilliant! Made me wonder what a bright yellow kilt would look like... (I'm not that brave!)
