Re: Kiltmaker's Input Requested, & Who Wants Cthulu Tartan Yardage?
I emailed on the 21st and only received a reply on the 24th after I emailed again asking if they'd received my first email. Their reply was asking me to be patient and that they'll be back in touch, but I'm still yet to hear anything.
I'm sure the quality of their work is first rate, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It's not difficult nor time consuming to make a DL of everyone that's emailed them and send an update every few days to say they're working through processing or something. No contact for a week and a half knowing that some people are already being told theirs is in the mail is more than frustrating.
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't, none is possible.

I agree with the frustration. Except for the specific dates, this is my same experience.

On the other hand, the risk you run in not registering it is that someone might take your very fine design and register it as something else. So, that's something to consider. And, if it is copyrighted, you can set the terms for who can have it woven.

I like barbs idea, that way it can be easily controlled if needed.

LOL, I don't know. I almost like the idea of it being stolen and sold to the unsuspecting as something else. There is something delightful about the idea of someone buying it because it's "Pretty" and has been re-branded as "Highland Heather" (purple & green), only to eventually be confronted with the information that they're wearing an homage to great, slumbering, horror.

Regarding a re-order: At this point nothing is going to be done until the whole holiday season is WELL over and done with.
Ryan is correct, this colour run will most likely never be duplicated as 3 of the 4 colours were custom dyed for us, which gets quite expensive when you're not ordering 100+yds double width.

To those who really understand what we're dealing with here, the idea of the public being sold this tartan without knowing it's power is too perfect.
I vote for keeping it off the grid, also.

I have to admit that I have been giggling maniacally to myself for the last ~25min now at the thought of this happening.
