Anybody got any information, photos or better yet first hand experience of the Dressed to Kilt event in New York.

Well, Sean Connery was accused of being rude to some reporter because the reporter asked some inane questions and he mocked her.
The leader of the Scottish Parliment showed up in a dark Pinstripe Kilt, prompting many Scots there to growl about him not respecting Tartan.
The Scotsman newspaper published a story about it, and Fark.com had a go at the Connery story. Philly Inquirer has a bit about it in their people section Wednesday or Thursday, with pic of Connery

Gaah. I see the only one there properly dressed was Sean Connery, wearing a proper Sgian dubh (wifey was a little racy). The rest, well, the Greenland Ice cap is supposed to be melting, and with any luck it'll wash away NYC and some of those, ummm, kilts.

All for MUGing about
Well, there certainly were some stretches of 'kilt' but overall, I think the photos tell a very kilt-positive story.
And whatever a Kathleen Brennan is, I want one for take-out! Arrrr!
The guest with matching vest, kilt and hose should be found and, uh, corrected. Ugh!
Sorry I missed it (wrong coast) - lots o' pretty people!

Sir Sean Connery is wearing a matching tartan tie with his kilt! Now I can definitely wear one without worrying about what anyone thinks.

Thanks
Thanks Hank/Elijah,
It looks like everyone was having a good time, and I wouldn't worry about 'stretching' the kilt, designers use cat walks to test some of their wackier ideas, which are then diluted into practicalities for the high street. Look at the stuff Vivien Westwood and Alistair McQueen put on yhe fashion shows and look at the stuff actually sold under their labels. Quite different.
I hope kiltedchef sees the chef check kilt, I'm sure I read apost where he said he couldn't wear akilt to work, well problem solved

Alastair McKenzie from "Monarch of the Glen" was wearing a kilt! He told Hamish that he doesn't like to wear kilts, so I was pleasantly surprised to see him at the show.
When looking at the pics, I noticed that having the length off on a kilt can make it look really wrong.
