Its been far too long since I was back up 'home' and thought I'd take a look at what to do when we go up to the lowlands next year.

Found some nice stuff and a link to the Isle of Skye tourist site. I'm now feeling VERY homesick.

Seeing all the beautiful sweeping landscapes, the world class sunsets, reading about local delicacies, the smooth Skye whiskies, hearing the soft accents, the fiddle music, the pictures of ad hoc ceilidhs in little pubs with real fires, I want to be back where the majestic stag runs free, the eagles soar on the winds, the haggis play hide and seek with the hunter, where smoked salmon is local not synthetically smoked and expensive...

But no, I'm stuck in dreary Reading eating a lousy sandwich...

Sounds like you should make friends with a fisherman who smokes his own catch. Smoked trout done right is phenominal! I hear you on this PA weather, though. The yard at our new house is a low grade and has been a swamp for months. Would that the weather were a little warmer. I'd show you some amazing hiking trails to lift your spirits and take you elk spotting.
