    FSA (Scot)

I just received notice of my acceptance into the Society of Scottish Antiquaries which is a fantastic archeological and historical organization. I am humbled and excited.

Congratulations! Fellowship is also a goal of mine, though I feel I've quite a way to go yet.

Wow, awesome! I had actually been thinking about applying... or, at the very least, trying to find out more info from some of the Fellows on this board about what's involved. Aside from the sponsorship requirement, is there any advice you could give to prospective applicants?

    Re: FSA (Scot)

    Congratulations indeed!

I have always been very interested in this as well, just never 'pulled the trigger' so to speak - you have inspired me! I know several (Macpherson) Fellows that would have no problem providing their signatures on the formal application to the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. I have long been well versed and formally educated in Scottish history, archaeology, and antiquarianism, throughout my tenure as a university student (along with my other studies).

I look forward to submitting my application for 2012!

    Cordially yours,

Congratulations on becoming a Fellow of this old and respected learned society. May it bring us all a better understanding of ourselves and our history.
